Understand where IRP registration sits in the process
Residence registration is one part of an immigration process; it is not the same thing as school admission, a visa or a study-permission decision. First identify what your passport, actual course and intended duration require, then use the current Irish Immigration Service instructions for the applicable registration step.
Prepare consistent personal, course and travel information
Name spelling, passport number, contact details, course dates, school address, flight and accommodation should match across the relevant records. Check each field before submission so that autofill does not leave an old passport number or address in the record.
Keep private evidence and check the record’s status
Keep the reference number, submission date, payment evidence and result or appointment record in a private folder. If the system permits an update, follow the official instruction when a course or address changes. Do not send pages containing passport data into public group chats.
Recheck the route when a material fact changes
Eligibility is decided under current rules and individual circumstances. If the course, dates, passport, address or travel plan changes, return to the official Irish source or obtain qualified advice; another traveller’s experience is not a substitute for an eligibility decision.
