Reduce the city to a named campus
UK cities differ greatly, but selection starts with the campus address, course timetable, minimum duration and first-day instructions. London, Brighton, Manchester, York and Edinburgh are not single experiences; within one city, commuting and housing can change how much time is actually available for study.
Test accommodation through a repeatable commute
Write separate routes from each candidate home to campus for early class, late class and first arrival with luggage. Record interchanges, the final walk, night return, meals and deposit terms before comparing rent. ‘Near the centre’ does not establish that housing works for class.
Make city resources serve a defined language task
A large city may offer museums, clubs and professional events, while a university or coastal city may make a stable routine easier. Set one achievable English task each week, such as making a service enquiry or writing a reflection after a school activity; do not treat ‘immersion’ as automatic.
Check course and entry arrangements separately
A city choice does not establish visa or entry eligibility. Return to the UK Government route for the actual passport, course duration and school documents. Before paying for a course, accommodation or flight, keep the school’s written confirmation of start and cancellation terms.
