Use this content as a planning framework. School availability, promotions, visa, entry and travel rules can change; verify current requirements with the relevant authority before making a binding decision.

Carry documents and study materials with you

Keep passport, visa or entry documents, course and housing confirmation, insurance, transfer information and emergency contacts in carry-on luggage, with encrypted electronic copies. Do not check the only original document; confirm the actual documents through the airline and Australian official pages before departure.

Pack layers for the campus city and season

Australian climates vary widely. Check the course month's temperature, rain, sun and indoor–outdoor contrast, then pack washable layers. Everyday items that are easy to buy locally need not consume luggage allowance; add separate equipment only for a beach, mountain or northern itinerary.

Devices: plug, lithium batteries and backup

Australia uses the Type I plug. Bring a compliant adapter, cables and power bank, carry lithium batteries according to the airline's rules, and record serial numbers for valuable devices with location, backup and screen lock enabled. Do not assume every hotel, homestay or campus provides the same sockets.

Declare medicines, food and biosecurity goods truthfully

Keep common medicines in original packaging with instructions and any necessary prescription; check controlled ingredients through an official channel before travel. Do not guess about food, plant or animal products, soil or outdoor equipment: use Australian Border Force guidance and declare goods as required.

Turn the list into a first-day plan

Carry a change of clothes, charging, addresses, payment method and contacts for the first day; put replaceable clothing and items in checked luggage. On arrival, follow school or housing arrangements for phone service, transport, medicine storage and emergency contacts. A packing guide is not entry clearance or permission for an item.
