A course title does not grant work rights
A notice published by the Consulate General of China in Dubai on 22 May 2025 states that holders of ordinary Chinese passports valid for at least six months may enter the UAE visa-free for a cumulative stay of no more than 90 days in any 180-day period. This visitor convenience is not student residence, a training permit or work permission; when the course, stay or activity changes, reconfirm the current applicable route with the school, ICP/GDRFA and MOHRE.
A language course, student status, an internship arrangement and paid employment are different concepts. Even if a programme markets career English, business communication or employment support, that does not establish legal permission to work, receive pay or begin an internship. Define what “internship” means in your case—school observation, an unpaid activity, a company placement or an employment relationship—before asking the right body.
A school can explain only the part it can confirm
Ask the school whether it provides visa support, what course or attendance documents it can issue, whether it is an accredited institution able to offer a student-sponsorship route, whether it has formally partnered practice activities, and which questions must go to an authority. Request a written response and check whether the activity conflicts with classes, attendance or housing. A school’s course confirmation must not be stretched into employment permission.
Match official rules to current status, item by item
Passport, permission to stay, course type, education provider, whether an activity is paid, place of activity and duration can all change the applicable requirements. For student training or employment, the MOHRE permit is submitted by a Ministry-registered establishment; for standard employment, u.ae identifies the employer as applicant. The student should ask the establishment to identify the permit it proposes to use and how it matches school and residence documents, rather than trying to “self-apply” on its behalf. Check each item through current UAE Government information and written responses from the relevant body, rather than acting on social posts, a friend’s experience or an employer’s verbal assurance. Where information conflicts, pause and obtain formal confirmation that explains the difference.
Keep a clear study boundary until confirmation exists
Until there is clear written confirmation that applies to the situation, keep time within coursework, homework and school-permitted activities. Do not sign work documents, give a passport to an unverifiable intermediary, accept cash payment or pay for a “guaranteed placement”. Any arrangement changing the course or stay’s character should trigger a fresh check of school documents, budget and official route, not a later repair.
