Put goals, time and budget together
Do not begin with a school ranking. Write down learning goal, available dates, budget ceiling and preferred daily experience, then compare country, city, course intensity and housing rather than chasing the lowest weekly price.
- Goal: speaking, exam, further study, work or cultural experience.
- Time: departure date, study weeks and latest return date.
- Budget: tuition, housing, visa, flights, insurance and daily living.
- Preference: city scale, climate, commuting, age mix and class atmosphere.
Large cities and smaller cities
Madrid concentrates resources and transport; Barcelona is highly international but daily life also includes Catalan; Salamanca has a strong university-city setting; Málaga, Seville and Granada suit students combining language with southern culture. None of these labels replaces checking the actual campus, class mix and housing address.
Create language settings beyond the course
Homestays, language exchange, activities and fixed daily tasks often increase speaking frequency more than simply adding class hours. Ask the school about activity frequency, nationality mix and real local-exchange opportunities.
Documents for a longer study period
Schengen short stays and longer study visas use different document logic. Prepare school admission, course duration, funds and housing evidence through the current Spanish official channel for the actual course and consular district; do not infer a pathway from another student's case.
