Start with stay length and cantonal/federal roles
Swiss short visits and longer study use different visa and residence processes. Longer study requires attention to federal entry rules, the study canton’s residence requirements and the competent mission’s current materials; Schengen experience does not replace the Swiss study route.
Acceptance, study plan, funds and housing
Prepare genuine acceptance, course dates, study goal, source of funds and housing. Funding standards and evidence form can change, so use the current canton or mission checklist rather than an old figure or an assumption that every school follows one rule.
State language region and study location accurately
Explain the study canton, main teaching or daily language, commute and address, and how the course leads to the next step. A multilingual environment does not mean every course is taught in English or any particular language; school documents must reflect the real arrangement.
Registration and residence after arrival
Longer stays may require registration or residence steps in the study canton and municipality. Timing, appointments and evidence follow current local-authority and school guidance; allow margin for course start and address evidence.
Use current official notices throughout
Keep submitted copies and school and insurance documents. Do not predict further documents, processing or entry checks; promptly confirm course, address or funding changes with the school and relevant authority.
